Dr. Pillay completed his undergraduate degree at the prestigious University of Witwatersrand in 1990. He then went on to complete his post-graduate training at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
Dr. Pillay has had a passion for medical knowledge from a very early age. With over 25 years of experience in Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Dr. Pillay is passionate about helping women deliver healthy babies safely. His dedication to ultrasound diagnostics offers his patients a deeper level of care by identifying fetal and gynaecological abnormalities.
Dr. Pillay is passionate about placing his patient’s individual and tailored needs at the forefront of his work and values an open and simplified communication style for all his patients. Dr. Pillay’s expertise in pre-conception allows him to find the best pathway for his patient’s IVF treatment and any maternal or paternal health queries they may have.
Dr. Pillay has worked in all major tertiary hospitals in Sydney: Monash Medical Centre, Mercy Hospital, and The Royal Women’s Hospital. He is passionate about mentorship and has supervised junior registras training at The Royal Women’s Hospital. Dr. Pillay also provides first-hand education and teaching to student midwives emphasizing the importance of high standards in antenatal care and supervises midwives in the delivery suits while providing expert advice to safely deliver newborn babies.
Dr. Pillay values and understands the importance of cultural heritage and the personal needs of women from Chinese, African, Turkish, Indian and Vietnamese backgrounds. He has delivered over 5000 babies for mothers from diverse cultures in private and public health practices.
