When choosing fertility care, safety and support are essential. At Rainbow Fertility, we understand that our patients place a great deal of trust in us, and we are committed to honouring that trust at every stage of your journey.
Fertility treatment involves handling sperm, eggs and embryos, and with that comes a great responsibility. Precision and accountability are not optional. They are critical to everything we do. That is why at Rainbow Fertility we have strict safeguards in place to ensure the highest level of care and accuracy at every stage of treatment.
We want to reassure our patients and community that we have robust systems designed to protect you throughout your treatment. Alongside our quality management protocols, we use a combination of advanced electronic witnessing and thorough physical double-checking to ensure your safety and peace of mind.
At the heart of our verification processes is the RI Witness ART Management System, a globally recognised system designed to minimise risk and prevent errors in IVF labs.
This system uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to automatically track and monitor samples in real-time. This system significantly reduces the chance of human error by alerting our team if a mismatch or incorrect procedure is detected. No procedure can continue unless every step is fully validated.
From sperm and egg preparation to insemination and embryo transfer, the system ensures continuous monitoring, helping to create a closed, reliable process that upholds the safety of your treatment at all times.
While technology plays a vital role, we know that human oversight also matters. That is why we carry out physical double-witnessing at every key stage of your treatment to strengthen our systems even further. With this system, two qualified embryologists confirm and record the identification, labelling and handling of samples before any procedure can proceed.
This adds another layer of protection, ensuring that the correct sperm, eggs and embryos are used, every time.
These safeguarding checkpoints include:
Before treatment begins: Your documentation and consent forms are carefully reviewed and confirmed to match your treatment plan.
Sperm collection or retrieval: Whether using a fresh or frozen sample, two scientists confirm that the correct sperm is identified before use.
Sperm preparation: The sample is matched with your patient details using both the RI Witness system and physical witnessing verification, with all tubes labelled before moving to the next phase.
In the lab: For every IVF procedure, two scientists physically witness the sperm sample and oocytes in the laboratory before insemination occurs. Alternatively, for donor insemination, the final witnessing checkpoint occurs just before insemination, with an embryologist, clinician and patient all involved in checking the final sample. In both situations, RI witness is also utilised, with sperm tubes and oocyte dishes all tagged by the RI system. Patients are also allocated an ID card which gives an extra layer of identification before insemination, egg collection or embryo transfer.
At Rainbow Fertility, your safety is our highest priority. We are dedicated to protecting the integrity of your sperm, eggs and embryos at every stage of treatment. Your journey is supported by advanced technology, carefully designed protocols and a team that understands and respects the diverse needs of the LGBTI+ community.
We use a multi-layered safety approach that combines electronic tracking with physical double-checking at every key step. This system helps ensure accuracy, reduce risk and provide peace of mind, knowing your treatment is managed with care, precision and accountability.
Through ongoing investment in innovation and a strong commitment to best practice, we aim to deliver fertility care that is not only safe and inclusive but also deeply supportive.
