“Dr Ernst is a highly qualified specialist who believes in a progressive, evidence-based, and caring approach. As a former AFL Women’s player, Dr Ernst is known for her strong work ethic which she balances with attentiveness and open communication.

Dr Ernst works primarily in:

  • IVF and fertility care.
  • Gynaecology.
  • Laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr Ernst completed her studies with First Class Honours from James Cook University in 2011 before beginning her Masters in Reproductive Medicine at the University of NSW, which she graduated with excellence in 2019. She finished her Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RANZCOG) Fellowship at Monash Health, Victoria and the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Queensland.

Her training has afforded her a wealth of experience and confidence across the fields of obstetrics, gynaecology and advanced laparoscopic surgery. In particular, she is delighted to support patients who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community on their journey to parenthood.

Dr Ernst was honoured to be one of the trailblazing athletes recruited in the foundational AFL Women’s competition. She played every game throughout four seasons of the AFLW competition and won a Premiership as a player for the Western Bulldogs in 2018. She is esteemed for the successful balance of her medical profession and elite sporting obligations.

Dr Ernst has clinical proficiencies in all gynaecology open and advanced laparoscopic procedures. She is excited to be managing all aspects of fertility care comprising of natural conception advice, infertility, recurrent miscarriage, and egg and sperm donation.

Dr Ernst combines her rich knowledge and advanced surgical skills to give her patients the finest chance of achieving a pregnancy. She is passionate about giving them the support they need to grow their family.

Dr Ernst prides herself on effective and clear communications with her patients while understanding the needs of the LGBTQ+ community and tailoring programs to ensure comprehensive fertility care.

While continuing to be passionate about medicine, Dr Ernst is proactively participating in conferences and presentations surrounding gender equity. Specifically, Dr Ernst has been vocal about overcoming systemic barriers to gender inequality and navigating the challenges facing professionals within their workplace and sporting arena.
